You can go check out how to win them here.

But read the rest of my blog before you go!! LOL

I was totally inspired yesterday by Virginia at Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog. She posted the cutest little tutorial on how to make a Lunch Box Note. I actually immediately got out a paper bag, cut it in half lengthwise, folded it up matchbook style and got to decorating!! LOL

I made it for my daughter, Olivia, who likes to take her lunch. I snuck outside this morning when it was barely light out to take the photos so if they are a little dark please bear with me. After taking the photos I popped it into a plastic bag (because she is a messy girl) and stuck it inside her lunchbox. She was so happy when she got home. She rattled on and on about it. She showed it to everyone she could think to show it to. Sometimes it is the little things that are special.

It was quick and super easy. I used some Doodlebug paper from the Ladybug Garden Collection. Most of the embellies are stuff fussy cut from the paper. I did pull a few things from my stash like the charm and the paper clip thingy it is hanging on. I just used a regular paper clip to hold it closed.

I want to remind people that my Birthday Giveaways end TOMORROW so if you haven't already joined in you should go do it NOW!! ha I will be drawing names on Saturday.

Okay, now you can go to Crafter's Companion and check out their fabulous giveaway. LOL

Delightful Projects!

I was jumping around online reading blogs and came across the Artful Delight Birthday Blog Hop Celebration. There were 3 challenges on there and they just called to me so I sat down and here is what I came up with for them.

The first one is a card I made that was for the challenge #3. The challenge was to use Kraft, Pink and White. I really love this simple card I made. This is totally the style of card I enjoy. Just really clean and simple. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the butterflies. I punched out two for each butterfly. One I adherred flat and then I folded up the wings on the second one before gluing it to the top of the first one. I love the dimension that adds.

The second one is a layout I made for the sketch challenge #1. I'm really happy with this one too. I am entering it over at Frosted Design also in their challenge to use "ransom note lettering". I used paper from the Twitterpated Collection from Pebbles. I fussy cut the 3 layers of the flower out of one of the pieces of patterned paper and then used my stylus to emboss them and give them dimension. Can you tell I am all about dimension!! LOL The chipboard butterfly is from the Togetherness collection from Cosmo Cricket.

My third project is a card I made for the tic tac toe challenge #2. I used the left top-(make a card), middle-(include at least one button) and right bottom-(use a border punch) squares for my card. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and did alternating layers to give the card a feel of snow flakes. I pulled this cute card stock sentiment from my stash and added some ribbon and three buttons.

I really enjoyed doing these challenges.

I am in a scrappy mood today too so who know what I will come up with next! lol

The Sketch-a-thon ended at Sketches4all. I drew two winner from my challenge. They were GinniG and Denise. Congrats to both of these girls for winning my challenge. I loved seeing all the great projects that were entered. The Queen of the Crop was Jose. Second place went to Kimberly and the 3rd place winner was GinniG. I had a blast doing all 15 of the challenges! I hope that all of the new folks will be hanging round and entering in on the Big October Contest coming up that is sponsored by Regina at The Cutting Cafe. You rock Regina!!! I just adore the Cutting Cafe!!!!

You need to go check out the Crafter's Companion blog tomorrow...they have a little announcement. You would really be interested in reading it... Just saying....

My Sweet Boy's Smile

Isn't that the sweetest smile ever!!?!? This is my lovely little boy, Riley. I was outside taking photos of my layouts and he grabbed me and asked me to take a photo of a bug. I told him I would rather take a photo of him. So he gave me a big smile. (I also took a photo of the bug for him to see) I just thought I would share.

I have two layouts to show you today. They were for the last two challenges at the Sketch-A-Thon at Sketches4all. The first one is a layout to remind me of my summer travel dramas! lol It is a photo of the blown tire on our RV during out trip to Oklahoma. I actually saved a piece of the tire tread that I found on the road to add to my layout. But have you ever tried to cut a steel belted radial tire?! So I peeled it down to this thin sliver that I have stapled on the page. Not quite the same effect but you get the drift. And I will definitely know what it is. It just doesn't show too well in the photo. I had a lot to write about so I hid the journaling tag.

My second layout is of a photo from last Halloween. I don't have many photos from last Halloween because I was in the hospital having surgery that weekend and got to come home on Halloween in the early evening. I hobbled in and made the kids smile for a photo but I didn't last long before I had to go lay back down. So it isn't the best photo.

How was your weekend?? I was fairly productive and did several scrappy projects (mostly DT projects that you will have to wait to see). I'm feeling oddly caught up so I must be missing something!!! LOL

This week my two older boys have picture day at school so I guess I need to find them a cute outfit. I did get their hair cut last week. I'm that Mom who loves super short hair on the boys and long hair on the girls. I'm not sure why. I do know I love to run my hand over the boys hair and feel how soft and bristly it feels. And I love to do different cute hair styles with the long hair. Unfortunately for me my older daughter doesn't like anything but a low ponytail...sigh.... I'm still hoping that my little girl will be girlie!! LOL She doesn't have much hair yet. It is pretty fine. I had it cut to above her shoulders that last time in hopes that it would start to thicken up! lol Maybe I should have had them shave it. LMAO

Two more weeks until I leave to go to Oklahoma. I'm flying there to get my mother and my aunt and drive my RV (which is already there) to Arkansas to the craft festivals. We start with a big one called War Eagle Fair. There are hundreds of craft festivals the week of October 12th - 16th in northwestern AR. Some are really big shows with hundreds of people selling their crafts. Every corner has a garage sale going on and the antique stores are open until midnight! My idea of HEAVEN!! We just have the best time! We have gone for the last 25 years! (we missed maybe 2 years) I'm a little worried about my 82 year old aunt this year because she is struggling with leukemia and starts back on chemo this week. The beauty of taking the RV is that even if she isn't feeling well she can come and do as little or as much as she wants. There is always the RV to go back and rest in. She can just spend the whole trip reading or sleeping if she wants.

Okay, that is enough for today. Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!! TGIM!

Lunch Bag Mini Book Tutorial

First I want to say hi! And I want to show you this sweet card that my ds made for a friend of his. He was invited to her birthday party and this is the card he came up with!! Isn't it adorable! You just know she is going to love it.

I was kind of proud of him for making it for her. His brother made one for her too and I would show it to you but he had it all taped shut so I didn't see it before he went to the party. I'm proud of him for making her a card too. They are actually still at the birthday party. It started out as a bowling party and then they went back to her house for a cookout. The girls are staying and spending the night but the boys will be going home soon. I'm sure they are having a blast.

I made a layout today but I will show it to you another day because I want to share a tutorial I made for making a paper lunch sack mini book. I'm all for saving money when I can and this is super economical. You probably already have the paper sacks in your pantry! Let me share how to make it.

1st - Stack the paper lunch bags on top of one another. Just make sure the middle sack is going the opposite direction.

2nd - Next you need to clip them together. You can use whatever you have at hand that works. I used some paper clips and a chip clip that was handy. I measure the bags lengthwise and drew a pencil line down the center.

3rd - There are many ways you can attach the bags together. You can staple them, you can use punch holes and reinforce the holes with eyelets and tie them together with ribbon. You are only limited by your imagination. I like to sew them together. I just sew down the pencil line and then I erase the pencil marks.

4th - Now you are ready to embellish! So fast and easy. This a such a great "kid" project. Mine love to make these!

Here is the one I made using the new S.W.A.L.K. stamps that are launching next week. I'm having such fun playing with them! They will be available in the Crafter's Companion Store on Thursday. You should go check them out.

I used a paper kit I had from Sassafras - Ellie's Tale. It really makes it easy to throw together a mini book when you use a kit of already matched papers and embellies.

I am ending here because my son just called and I need to go pick him up from the party. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Popcorn the Bear In the House

Hi guys,

Here is a couple of projects I made for Crafter's Companion that I wanted to share with you. They are all using the new Popcorn the Bear Paper Crafting CD-ROM. For the first two projects, the card box with drawer and the matching envelobox I printed out these cute decoupage images and then fussy cut them out. Then using pop dots I layered all the images. I printed out some color matched pattern paper from the CD-ROM and also used some from my 12x12 pad of Fairyopolis paper. I used a fun Martha Stewart punch. I added some ribbon, Stickles, brads and bling from my stash and there you go!

The next project I made was super easy. I actually used scraps of the paper I had printed out off of the CD-ROM and a pyrimage image I printed out too. I then fussy cut it out and then layered it in a similar fashion to the decoupage. I pulled out some sweet little flowers and some rick rack from my stash. Squeezed on a little Stickles and BOOM - 2nd project done! LOL

I have actually been pretty busy scrapping but you are going to have to wait to see what I made because it has all been DT stuff. I did do another Sketches4all layout but I still need to take a photo so I will show that to you tomorrow. The Sketch-a-thon is almost over....just a couple more days to go join in the fun.

See you tomorrow.
