I decided to throw you a curve ball by sharing a layout!! It has been a while since I posted a layout hasn't it?? I need to get back to making more of them. I think that is my goal for tomorrow to make at least one layout. That is a good goal right?? ha
This layout I made for a challenge at Sketches4all. It was a sketch challenge. We were given some lovely Nikki Sivils goodies to use. On Christmas eve I dress my kids in matching new pajamas, they drink egg nog, make cookies for Santa (and snag a few for themselves) and then we finish up with their Dad reading them Twas The Night Before Christmas. It is kind of comforting to follow traditions isn't it?
I used photos from last years reading for this layout. Everything on this layout is from my Nikki Sivils Gingerbread Land kit except for the red card stock, Stickles and brads! It is really just loaded with goodies! I had such fun playing with all of it.
I loved the sweet little gingerbread men on the back of the paper. I couldn't help myself but I had to fold it down so you could still see some of it. I love to staple everything so I used my tiny attacher to keep the folded edge down.
I fussy cut the tree out of a piece of the paper and the tag too. I added the sentiment to it and the put glossy accents on top to add some shine and extra dimension. I know this isn't a new technique but it is kind of new to me and I have been using it a lot lately.
I like how it turned out. I didn't get it posted during the challenge because I was out of town so it has been sitting waiting to be put up on my blog.
I just finished making a card using a stamp from the new Art Kure stamps that Crafter's Companion will be giving sneak peaks of this week. You can check mine out on Tuesday.
If you love me and I know you do. LOL Get yourself a Crafter's Companion Stamp and make me something for the Crafter's Companion USA Anything Goes Challenge this month!! (It is only open to US residents) I'm the new DT Coordinator over there and I am really excited about it. I want to see a ton of entries this month!!
I am going to end with a sweet story about my dear sweet just turned 4 years old daughter, Georgia. She and I hang out in my scrap room a lot. We were sitting in there and I was on the computer and she was sitting at her table using one of my edge punches on some paper. I thought she was just messing around but after awhile she came running over to me with this piece of red paper that she had edge punched all the way around and said to me, "Look Mommy!! I made you a card!" It melted my heart. It was so cute. She was so earnest and excited about it.
Thanks for stopping by today!!
