Happy Tuesday Everybody!
I am posting a little later in the day today because I posted so late last night... I want everyone to get to enjoy my post from yesterday!! LOL (jk)
I have a couple of things to share with you today because I was a busy scrapping beaver yesterday. At the end of the day I had made 3 layouts and 1 card. Not bad considering I still took care of and played with my 5 kids.
I made this card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #45 that you can find here... http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/2010/09/play-date-cafe-challenge-pdcc45.html.
It is a color challenge and the colors were orange, taupe and burgundy. (I am sure they have a fancy names but I can't think what they are right now.) Great colors though.
I made the flower first because my friend, Kelly, had told me about a tutorial I could watch to learn how to make the box flower. http://cosmocricket.typepad.com/cosmo_cricket/2010/02/box-flower-video-tutorial.html Check it out if you are interested.
It was a little harder than it looked but only because I needed stronger adhesive than I used. It just kept coming apart. But I eventually worked it out and I think it is cute. In the tutorial it was layered with another box flower but I only made one since I was struggling with it! lol
Next, I have the layout I made using the fab sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme...love, love, LOVE it!!! (no really, I love it I tell you!) lol You can find that challenge and sketch here... http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com/ .
I combined the sketch challenge with a challenge my friend, Kelly has going at Sketches4you. She is the Guest Designer for September and she has an awesome challenge going on right now.
1) must be new layout (layout only)
2) must be predominately GREEN.
3) must have at least one handmade flower on it
Those are the requirements. And if you want to participate (and who wouldn't) just click on the prompt on my sidebar to be taken directly to the site.
So I used some awesome Pink Paislee Paper - Queen Bee Collection, that is a chartreuse green color mostly. And it just worked so great with the picture of my dd that I used. And that awesome sketch was just the icing on the cake. I really LOVE how the sun seems to be peeking over her shoulder. Works perfectly!! I love when things come together.
I don't think my photo is the greatest because you can't see how pretty the colors of the papers/title work etc are. Those Pink Paislee letters I used are almost a lime green. Oh well, I couldn't get a better picture so you are stuck looking at this one.
So there you are - a few creations to look at and COMMENT on! lol
Hugs!!
Great projects Stacy!
