New Monday Challenge

It is Monday and time for me to post my weekly challenge at Sketches4you.

This week on my "Weekly Stash Challenge, the challenge is to use either ink or chalk on your paper craft.

I used ink on my layout. I got the idea from the Tim Holtz book, Compendium of Curiosities.

I really love how it turned out. I was having a hard time wanting to put a picture over it! lol

I will definitely do this again and you should try it too. It is fun and easy.

I used a Liz Qualman sketch from Fia's Sketch Crazy Challenge #2 at Sketches4you. So I will be posting this over there too.

Please come over there and join in my challenge. I will be offering a RAK to the winner and I am sure all of you use ink or chalk on pretty much all of your cards or layouts!! Easy to get a chance to win a prize. Look on the my sidebar for a link to Sketches4you.
Happy Monday!!

Week 4 Compendium of Curiosities Challenge

Linda at Studio L3 is continuing her Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Challenge. Week 4 is "Shabby Chic" (check out the book for the exact procedure)
I made this card and think I am going to get it in under the wire. It was fun to make although I did have issues with my grunge paper curling. It looks so much better in person.

Flying High

Here is a layout I made just because I wanted to use the fun sun cut out. I think I will enter it over at My Partner in Crafting Crime. They are having a summer time challenge and this seems summery to me...
I had to be a little creative with the title since I didn't have all the letters I needed... But it turned out okay. I really love the bright cheery colors.
My challenge ends today over at Sketches4you so if you want in on the chance to win the RAK you should hurry over and post your creation.
I will be posting a new challenge on Monday. Please check it out.

Summertime Fun!!

Our summer vacation in Oklahoma has been fun and the time here is winding down. One child goes home with a grandparent tomorrow (summer school) and 2 more fly home with Daddy the following week on Sunday and then the last two kids, dogs, stuff and me drive home.

And even though it has been a lovely trip I am looking forward to getting back into my regular crafting space and normal routine. I just haven't been as creative here as I like to be.

However, I did get to make a nice layout today. It was based on a sketch from Let's Scrap! (love that site!!! Awesome sketches, great challenges and fun girls participating.).

I have been trying to do some of the other challenges from the fabulous DT at Sketches4you and this covers a couple of them.

Sharon posted her monthly recipe challenge for July and it was to use primarily Red, White and Blue, to use a ribbon and to use a star.....well I think I have that covered! lol

Christy has a couple of challenges this month. One is from her "Toolbox" and it is to make this star (check out her link to the tutorial) and she also has a "Must Haves" list challenge and I used 3 ideas off of her must haves July list. 1) make a firework, 2) take a picture of a firework and 3) scrap a tradition. (we always go to the parade and college fireworks display on the fourth)

I had a great time today making this and I hope I didn't go too crazy with all the stars!! This lo definitely doesn't have much "white" space!! lol

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Sketch Crazy - Scrap Girl of the Month

Fia at Sketches4you is having a month long "Scrap Girl of the month" challenge. All month long she is offering up different challenges and when you participate you get points towards becoming Scrap Girl of the Month.
She is only on challenge 3 so you still have time to start participating and win some great prize!
Here is my take on one of her challenges. The challenge is to "not use any embellishments on your project"! That is definitely a cool challenge. I was worried that my using a pen would count against me but Fia said it was okay and you can also use a photo if you are doing a layout.
It has been a lot of fun!! And if you join up please check out my two groups while you are there!!
