Popcorn Pals Have Arrived

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you the card I made for the Crafter's Companion Blog today. I just think this new Popcorn's Pals Stamp Collection is adorable. They have fun characters such as Candy Floss the rag doll, Fudge the cat, Biscuit the dog and Barley the mouse.

I decided to work with Candy Floss from the Popcorn's Pals Rubber Stamp Collection-Special Day. I stamped the balloons and sentiment off of this set also.

I also loaded up my new Popcorn the Bear Paper crafting CD-ROM. I wanted to print up some custom color matched paper to use on my project. There are a ton of different patterns and projects on this CD-ROM. I think the one I chose works perfectly.

This is the first time I have made this shape of card. I was inspired by a card I saw on a blog but can't for the life of me remember who's blog it was. So sorry to not be giving credit for the inspiration. I liked the way the card went together and was held together by the 4 hearts. It took me awhile to figure out how to make it but I finally did.

What do you think?? Have you ever made a card like this one?? If so does the style have a name? It actually ended up being easy to make once I figured it out! LOL I should put together a tutorial. Maybe when I am feeling better.

Quinn's Fall Favz

First I want to start out by thanking Marlene at Disguised as a Grownup for the wonderful digi she designed. I think her digis are to die for and this one is no exception. I hope that her "Nerdy Girl" images just keep on coming.

I made the card using her Nerdy Girl Devil for the (no surprises here) Sketch-a-thon at Sketches4all. This is sketch challenge # 11. I used paper from Pink Paislee - Hocus Pocus.

The tag I made is also from the Sketch-a-thon (actually all my projects today are for the Sketch-a-thon). This challenge was a bit unusual because there was no sketch. This is odd because it is a SKETCH-A-THON. LOL For challenge #10 you were required to make a tag about a special memory and you had to use 1 button on it. I made this tag about our fun vacation this summer and used a photo.

Next was the layout sketch challenge # 8 from Renee. I decided to scrap about a school project that my ds did for school. He was required to put things he loved into a paper sack and then take it to school and tell about the items. He decided to take my camera and photograph things he loved. He put the photos in the sack. I decided to use them to record things he loves right now. I used the new fall collection from Imaginisce. He had so many photos and the sketch only fit 3 so I decided to layer the photos of the items he liked. It looks super cool in person. I used wood letters from Pink Paislee for his name and left them natural because I just loved the texture of them. I listed out his favz and attached them with brads. (and no that isn't a real snake! lol)

I'm feeling pretty good about how these turned out. I'm currently all caught up on the Sketch-a-thon. I can't wait for the new sketch challenge to be posted tomorrow. I just love the challenge of trying to get them all done. Only a couple more days left before it ends.

My weekend has been pretty calm. I have just been lazing around, scrapping, reading or watching TV. Tomorrow it is back to the grindstone! 3 of my kids have picture day so I need to go pick out outfits and get them in the tub. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by!!

Warning Photos Might Be Too Scary

Hi there! How are you guys doing today?? Enjoying your weekend?? I'm sadly still feeling poorly. I spent most of today just lazing around reading and watching television. This cold is kicking my booty.

I do have a layout to share with you. It is a layout for the Sketches4all Sketch-a-thon that is still going on right now. This is for Kathleens #9 Sketch Challenge. I turned the sketch because I wanted to use these horizontal photos. I used some fun paper from Pink Paislee-Hocus Pocus. I have been dying to use this Martha Stewart Halloween Punch set and my new Tim Holtz Skull and Cross Bones Mask. I used some Peach Delight Glimmer Mist on the mask to make it really stand out.

I love the photos of my children. They were being really funny. They were wearing scary costumes so I told them to looks scary in the photos. I think they really did a great job because I'm a bit frightened myself!! LOL

I am also super excited because I just got some stamps from a new collection from Crafter's Companion in the mail today. It is a new set that is launching this week on Thursday. I can't wait to start playing with them and making some fun stuff. Did that peak you interest?? You are going to have to wait to hear what they are!!

Frosted Design Challenge

Here is yet another layout made with my Fab new G-45 paper - an ABC Primer Collection. I am getting so much mileage out of that little 8x8 paper pad! I only bought 3 12x12 sheets and the 8x8 pad. I still have a ton of paper left. The sheets are two sided and on every sheet one of the sides is a generic enough pattern that you could use it any time of year. I am totally loving it.

I'm not as thrilled with this layout though. Yesterday when I finished it I said, "oh, I hate this". This morning I said, "it's okay". Soooooo I'm showing it to you and you can let me know what you think. Be brutal. I used a lovely sketch from Frosted Design.

Don't forget that the Sketch-a-thon is still going on at Sketches4all. It has really been fun so far. I have done all of the challenges except for one and I plan to do it this morning. I love doing things like a sketch-a-thon. I work better under pressure.

Also, I would LOVE IT if you would go join in the challenge at Crafter's Companion Challenge blog. The challenge is FALL which is easy since that is the challenge going on everywhere right now. And there is an awesome prize for the winner. I would love to maybe feature you as a Friday Favorite. Get busy and make me something!! ha

I'm in a mood to scrap but since I don't feel well I'm not sure how things are turning out. I think that is why I am only using this paper pad - it is one less thing to have to figure out! lol (and I just love it so it makes it easy to keep working with it)

So yes, I still don't feel that good but I'm sure it is only a cold so I will survive. ha I got the kids off to school. It is actually a nice cool morning and I think it is only going to be in the upper 80s or 90s (probably 90s). Fall is upon us... lol (at least Fall "Vegas style"!) ha

Can't Seem to Stop Myself!!

I can't seem to stop myself from using this cool Graphic 45 paper. Here are a few more cards that I have made with the scraps on my desk.

I used another sketch challenge from the Sketch-a-Thon at Sketches4all. It is Sketch #6. It came together fairly quickly. I love the red raffia that I used on it.

Next I used a card sketch challenge from Frosted Design. This is their first card sketch challenge and I bet they would love for you to go check out their sketch and join in the challenge.

I made this third card for Cheryl's Card Sketch Challenge at Sketches4all. I made the bow with some seam binding tape on my Crafter's Companion Ultimate Tool. It is so super easy to make perfect bows. LOVE THAT TOOL!! Everyone should get themselves one!

As you can tell I have the photos all out of order. The first one is Cheryls Challenge, the second one is from Frosted Design and the last one is Challenge #6 at S4A.

I'm still feeling a bit under the weather. I'm sure it is just a cold. My Mother In Law was kind enough to let me sleep in this morning while she got the kids ready for school. That was very nice of her.

I need to run up to the music store and rent a musical instrument for my son for band. He wants to play the alto sax and of course the school doesn't provide that instrument. So...ta ta for now.

More Graphic 45!

Yesterday I was a scrapping fool!! I did two layouts, 1 card and 1 tag! And all of them were out of my new Graphic 45 paper - An ABC Primer Collection. I posted 3 of my projects yesterday but here is the 4th project.

On this one I used a fun sketch from the My Scraps and More blog sketch challenge. I made the envelope using my Crafter's Companion Ultimate Tool (LOVE IT!!). I even dry embossed it with the Ultimate Tool. I pulled some bling from my stash and colored it with my Copic Markers to match. I used some Chipboard Alphas from that Mystery Box I got from Cosmo Cricket. I brushed some Glimmer Glam on them for a little added sparkle. I did pull a random ticket from my stash because I wanted to use this layout as my example for my new Stash Challenge at Sketches4All. My challenge is to use either an envelope, tickets or a tag on your project. You can use one or all. I used them all. I borrowed the idea from a wonderful challenge at Frosted Designs which is going on right now too. Go check it out.

Graphic 45 Monday

I am LOVING this new Graphic 45 paper - An ABC Primer Collection!!!!! Can't you tell??!! I am totally obsessing and have made 3 projects today alone. Sketches4all is having their Sketch a Thon and these are made from Sketches #3, #4, and #5. I am really having fun trying to keep up with the sketches. There is only 1 sketch challenge posted each day so it is pretty easy to do. Don't forget my sketch #2 challenge is going on there right now too and you can enter until September 25th!! Go join in and you could maybe win the RAK!!

I hid some journaling under a photo on the layout. I don't normally do that but I have on the last two layouts I have made. I guess I am just trying to mix it up a bit.

Book club in San Francisco was a blast!! It has been awhile since I have been able to go and they have added two new members. These girls were so much fun and added some lively discussion. We read two books so there was a lot to talk about. The weather was pretty nice and it was fun staying with my friend, Jan and getting caught up with her.

I have a sick kid home today. My son, Jesse, has a little temperature and was feeling bad. Of course, after I gave him a little Tylenol his temp came down and he is sitting in my scrap room playing video games...so I bet he could be at school!! ha Oh well.....better safe than sorry right??

Well, I need to go fix some Ramen Noodles for the sickie and his sister...LOL Have a good Monday!
