Scrap Our Stash Challenge

Hello my friends!  Glad you had time to stop and check out my blog today!  I went to our monthly Scrap Diva's crop and managed to get some layouts made!  WOO HOO!  Spending time with friends and scrapping...that's always great, right?  I was inspired to do the challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

There is a sketch challenge plus a bingo card.  I did the diagonal B row from left to right.  (Brown, Doily, FREE, Kraft and Graph Paper)  This bingo was really a challenge for me!  (me with big eyes)

Here is what I came up with:

Shabby Chic isn't really my forte but I'm happy with how it came out.   I'm back to baby photos again...(smile)  Who doesn't love a baby photo??!!

Scrappy Friends October

Hello friends!  I have a project to share with you today!  It is always fun to do the Scrappy Friends Challenges by Rochelle, Kelly, and Brenda.  You can do one challenge or all three of them.  If you do them all you get your name in the hat for the grand prize.  I combined all three challenges on this layout:

I did the sketch challenge by Brenda over at GrandDiva's Creative Corner.

I did Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe challenge at Through the Eye's of Rochelle Spears.  I used "Toe" down - Diamond shape, Mixed Alphas and Pearls.

And finally I was inspired by the diamonds on Kelly's Inspiration board at Creating with Paper and More.

I love how my layout turned out and I hope you like it too!  Thanks for looking!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Scrappy Friends September

Hello people!

What's up?  I've spent the morning scanning in my layouts so that I can upload them and enter them in some challenges.  It's my first time using my scanner and I must admit I was a bit challenged! lol  But I did finally figure things out and here is my first attempt to use one of them.  This is a layout I made for The Scrappy Friends Challenges.

The photos are from the first day of school of course.  My kids always want to do a regular photo and a crazy face photo.

I used this cool sketch by Brenda at Granddiva's Creative Corner

Here is the color challenge that Kelly has on her blog, Creating with Paper and More.

For the Tic Tac Toe challenge on Rochelle's blog, Through the Eyes of Rochelle Spears, I used the top row across, Pennants, Washi Tape and Notebook Paper.

Thanks for stopping and looking today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

September Sketches in Thyme Challenge

Hello friends!  There is a new sketch challenge up at Sketches in Thyme!  Woo hoo!  Here is my take on the fun sketch from Bev Code.

I was lucky to get a goodie bag of awesomeness in the mail to work with from Kimberly, the owner of Sketches in Thyme.  Almost everything I used on this project is Close to my Heart goodies!!  They were so fun to work with!  I used patterned paper from the Zoe line and a ton of fun embellies from the same collection.

I am friends with some girls and we have named ourselves the Design Divas.  We have started getting together once a month to scrap together.   These photos is from the crop in August that we had at Hobby Lobby.  It was a total blast!  I can't wait for the next one at the end of the month.

This is the first sketch challenge of the month but remember there are a total of 4 sketch challenges posted throughout the month.  You only have to do one of the challenges to be in to win the prize for the month but you get extra entries with each project you do!  And the sketches are all so cute that you will want to do them all!!  So go on over to Sketches in Thyme and check out this first challenge!

The prize this month is three of the stamp sets from the CTMH Hello Life National Stamping Month collection.

Thanks for stopping by today and looking!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Smushing Ink

Hi everyone!

I have a card to share today that I made using the "smushing" technique.  I'm taking the Background Check class at Online Card Classes.  Today one of the things they shared was "smushing" ink.

I've actually been doing this already and love how it looks.  Basically you just put water color ink (like distress ink) onto a piece of acetate or directly onto your acrylic block, spritz with water and "smush" onto your background paper.  (I usually use watercolor paper)  I also use it on layouts too.

For this card I put the ink around the edges of my acrylic block and left a space in the center so I could stamp the sentiment.

This is such an easy and fun technique for a beautiful background!

Thanks for stopping and looking today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Here is my take on the sketch.

Yes, I'm afraid it is more baby photos.  I just can't seem to get enough of them! (smile)  I got a comment from a friend saying she was waiting to watch Jurassic World and opened up my post to see the "roaring" baby!  That totally made me laugh!

Remember there are 4 different sketch challenges offered each month at Sketches in Thyme.  You only have to upload one project to be entered to win the monthly prize.

The winner will receive a $15 Shopping Spree with Chickydoddle!!

So pop on over to Sketches in Thyme and check out all the inspiration!

Ponds Two Week Challenge

Hello everyone!

I recently received a package in the mail that contained products from Ponds to try. Ponds challenged me to a two week Anti-Wrinkle Challenge.

I have been using products from another company for many, many years and was afraid to try anything else.  But the two week challenge inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone and boy am I glad it did!  I LOVE both of these products.

I’m particularly enamored with the Clarant B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream.  If you are anything like me, you were of the generation that loved to sunbathe and are now regretting all that time out there causing sun damage to you skin.  It seemed like I was getting a new dark spot every day.  I’ve been wanting to find a product that would help me get rid of these spots so I was excited to try this product and see if it worked!  And I am happy to say that it does!  I’ve noticed a visible lightening of the dark spots and no new ones have popped up.

And even though I’m mostly raving about the Clarant B3 Cream I also love the way the Rejuveness Anti Wrinkle Cream makes my face feel.  It makes it feel smooth and soft but it still feels tighter and looks less wrinkled. You can tell I'm definitely a fan! (smile)

For this two week challenge I washed my face in the morning and then layered on the two creams. And then in the evening I did the same steps. That's all, nothing else.  Then I just waited to see what would happen!  I did worry that I might have break outs but I didn’t.

Here is what the Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream looks like.

And here is what the Clarant B3 Cream looks like.

My only complaint is that I’m not able to tolerate scents very well and I wish that I could have tried products that were scentless.  The scents were not strong enough to stop my from using the products thought.

I will be buying and continuing to use Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream and Clarant B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream.  I have to keep things going in a positive direction right? (smile)  And I will definitely recommend both of these products to anyone who will listen. (yes, that means you!! lol)

Here is a before photo.

And here is an after photo.

I was given these products to try for free but my opinions are my own.  Thanks for stopping by today and visiting.

Family Beauty Secret (shhhhhhhh!)

Hello friends,

I recently had a chance to visit with my aunt who is 85.  She is a beautiful woman (still) and I asked her how she has stayed that way.  She told me her secret was water.  Yes...water.  She said that no matter what is going on in her day she always tries to drink as much water as possible.  It keeps her skin feeling hydrated.  Her hair is still soft and smooth.  It makes her body feel healthier.

It seems crazy that something so simple could be so important.  Guess what I have in my hand right now?   Yep...a glass of water! (smile)

Until next time...happy water drinking!  lol

When this photo was taken at school, my daughter's kindergarten teacher also had her write about her first day and I have that paper hidden behind her photo.

Mom's Love

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today I have a layout that I made for a Sketch plus Gold - Scrap Our Stash Challenge.  Everyone knows that gold is HOT right now so that was easy to add and I LOVE the sketch from Karan Gerber!!

Have a look and see what I mean...

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used a fun photo of my husband and his mother.  I splattered gold and pink Color Shine on the white base paper.  I'm enthralled with sequins lately so I had to add some of them too.  I used a bit of black to ground everything.  I'm happy with how it turned out.  What do you think??

I'm working on another layout right now so expect to see more soon!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!
