Winner Posted Today

Wow, I can't believe it is already Thursday!  I really meant to blog this week but life got in the way.  My dd turned 11 yesterday and since her birthday fell during the middle of the week we just had a family party last night at home.  She will celebrate with her friends this weekend.

My little tomboy - still young enough to want a camouflage
themed party

She requested homemade lasagna for dinner so I whipped one up for her yesterday and had my hubby pop it in the oven while we were all at lacrosse practice.  It was piping hot and coming out of the oven when we got home.  YUM!  After dinner, we had cake and ice cream and then she opened her presents.  You can tell they are growing up when the presents that are clothes out number the presents that are toys.  She told me this morning that this was her "best birthday ever!".  Which is a bit funny since it is the birthday that we probably did the least.   She loved all her new "sport clothes" and her new headphones.

Anyway, that was one thing that kept me too busy to blog this week.  But it will give me something to scrap about right!? lol

I do have a couple of cards to share today.  The first one was totally inspired by my class at Onlinecardclasses.com - Clean and Simple cardmaking 2.

I used an awesome stamp from Gourmet Rubber Stamps - Coverall's Chicken Wire.  LOVE IT!!  I stamped it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed it to fit onto a white card base.  Next I took out a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stamp - Heartfelt and used the scribbled heart stamp.  I stamped it with Ranger Adirondack Brights - Watermelon ink and heat embossed it with Stamp N Stuff - Kaleidoscope transparent embossing powder.  Next I fussy cut the heart out.

I took a scrap of white paper and rubbed my Adirondack Watermelon ink pad over it so that it would color coordinate with my heart and then stamped out the line of hearts (Unity Stamps -Lovely bits and baubles) and the sentiment ( Sheena -As Seen On Screen - Wouldn't It B Lovely 2) with versamark ink and then heat embossed with opaque white embossing powder.

Next I trimmed it out in a banner shape and adhered it to the card. I used a double sided adhesive square to adhere the heart I fussy cut out.  And then I wrapped some red and white bakers twine around the card and tied it to the bottom of the heart.  It took more time to write about it than it took to make it! lol  I'm entering it in the Fab and Funky Valentine/Hearts Challenge.

I also made a sweet Valentines card for the  February "We Love Valentines" Challenge at Sketches4All.  This challenge is going on now and ends on February 28th.  There will be two winners so go join in!!  You can either make a Vintage Valentines card or do a sketch challenge using traditional Valentines colors.  I made a "vintage" card.

If you were one of the people who hopped along on the Crafter's Companion Blog Hop this week, you should go check out the Crafter's Companion blog to see who won!!  It should be posted today.  Thanks to all who participated!!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow.  Crafter's Companion has a new stamp launch and I have a pretty project to share...

Until next time...happy scrapping!
