Wishing You Joy and Happiness

Hello and welcome!

How's life treating you?  Good?  If not, maybe you need to treat yourself!  Treat yourself to some of these fabulous Stamp-It Twinkle stamp sets!  I did!! ha

Crafter's Companion has a Christmas/Winter challenge going on this month and I couldn't wait to join in.  I was inspired to make this particular card after I saw the awesome sketch today at Sunday Stamps.   My friend, Jessica has a Non-Traditional Color Christmas Challenge at Sketches4all that I thought I would play on too.

To start I pulled out some fun green cardstock and my 6" X 6" Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Let it Snow.  I embossed the top of the base card in my eBosser. Then I grabbed some sand paper and sanded the top to help show the beautiful snowflake design.

I pulled out the Stamp-It Twinkle EZMount Stamp Set - Joy & Spirit.  Then I grabbed a piece of Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and my Spectrum Noir pen in CG2.  I colored a area on the paper and then I stamped out my sentiment with Tsukineko VersaMark ink.

I sprinkled on some opaque white embossing powder and then heat embossed it.  I die cut the sentiment out and now have custom colored topper!  LOVE it!

I added it onto papers that I layered on the card base.  It needed a little something more so I pulled out my Ultimate Tool and made a sweet little hot pink bow to add.  Easy peasy!

Now it is your turn to make a Christmas/Winter project for the Crafter's Companion Challenge this month.  There are actually two challenges over there this month and the other one is "Baby".  Two chances to win!  Better get to scrapping! ha

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Spectrum Noir Design Team Call

Hi Everyone,

The Spectrum Noir team is looking for a few new designers.  If you love coloring with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, you will definitely want to check this out!  Here are the details:

Spectrum Noir Design Team Call

Spectrum Noir is looking for several new, talented design team members from all around the world!  If you love to color and/or work with alcohol ink, we want to see your art! In addition to card makers, we are looking for mixed media and other alternative artists for our team.
This design team call is open internationally; we are particularly looking for designers from the US, Central and South America, Canada, Australia, and Western, Central, and Eastern Europe.  Don’t worry if you do not live in one of these regions but feel you would be a good fit for our team - submit your application for consideration!
As part of the Spectrum Noir design team, you will be provided with a generous welcome package, and will continue to receive the essentials you need to craft with, free of charge. You will be part of an elite group of alcohol ink colourists and educators; your work will be shared internationally on our web site and other online platforms.
What we expect from our team:
·       Create at least one educational post for the Spectrum Noir web site each month.  These tutorials must be high quality videos or contain step-by-step pictures and instructions.
·       Participate in our monthly challenge.
·       Be active on our Facebook page and willing to share your knowledge of alcohol inks and pens with others of all skill levels.
·       Be an ambassador for the Spectrum Noir brand.
·       Create samples for use at craft and/or trade shows as needed.
What you need to do:
·       Send us direct links to three to five of your best projects using alcohol pens and/or refill inks.  Use of Spectrum Noir is preferred but not required.  Please be sure the medium you have used is listed.  (note: do not send a general link to your blog or online gallery; be sure to send direct links to projects)
·       Make sure what you are sharing with us represents your best work and really showcases what you love to do! We want our team members to take high quality photographs that show a good representation of alcohol ink.  We will also be looking at your writing style and how you share information about the products you use.
·       All work submitted must be original and created by you.
Please submit these links via email to designteam@spectrumnoir.com for review.  Include the following information in your email:
·       Your full name
·       Preferred email address
·       Phone number
·       Address (include country)
·       Blog Link
·       Links to any additional places we might see your work
·       Any other design teams you are currently a member of
·       Preferred crafting style – are you primarily a card maker? Scrapbooker? Mixed Media artist? Manga artist?  Something else entirely?
·       If you currently teach classes with alcohol inks, any relevant information about them.
·       A little about yourself: What do you love about crafting? Why do you want to be a part of the Spectrum Noir team? (Please limit your response to around fifty words)
The deadline for submission is 1st July 2013.  If chosen for the team, you will be contacted by a representative of Spectrum Noir no later than 10th July 2013.  Additionally, we are always looking for guest designers; simply note in your email application that you would like to be considered for a guest position should you not be chosen for the full-time team. (Note: we will not be contacting potential guest designers at this time but instead will keep those applications on file and contact you when a guest position is available.)
If you have any questions prior to submitting your application, don’t hesitate to send us an email!  We look forward to seeing your work!

Good luck!!

Hump Day is OVER!

Hey guys!
Happy Thursday!  How's the week going for you so far??  We have had such warm lovely weather (80s and sunny) but a cold front has come through and we are in the 60s and it is cloudy and windy.  Burr (lol)

I wanted to share a couple of things with you today.  First Sketches4all is having an April sketch challenge.  You are required to use this gorgeous Pagemaps sketch:

The theme is Easter or Spring. Use the sketch and you can create a Card or Layout!
They will have one winner for cards and one for LO"S. (Please only choose one)

Here is the card I made using this sketch:

I think it turned out super cute.  I used spring colors to inspire me and a Anthony and Burt-Hope You Feel Better Soon Stamp from Crafter's Companion.  I added the velvet ribbon with my We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon Weave Punch.  I am still having so much fun with those things!! LOL  I had to adjust the punch holes to fit in the space on the bottom.  I'm not sure if you can tell that they are actually a little shorter than the ones on the top?  That fun yummy flower is from Petaloo.

I also wanted to show you this card I made for the April Mother's Day Challenge at Crafter's Companion USA Challenge blog.

I used the Humphrey-Flowers for You Stamp set.  I adore that little elephant!!  He is just so squishable. ha

I cut out the shapes using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die set.  I tied those two strands of ribbon into a bow on my Ultimate Tool.

And I colored this little guy with my Spectrum Noir markersThe Crafter's Companion Store just got in MORE new colors and they are going fast.  If you are interested in these awesome markers you better hurry!!  The new colors are in sets of 24.  Go check them out.
These markers are such an unbelieveable value!!  Each markers is currently around $2.10 each!!!!
And also remember today is the last day to try to win the Sheena A Little Bit Different-Oh Duck stamp set over on the Crafter's Companion USA Blog (US residents only). You have to actually go over there and leave a comment.  Go HERE.

Go on now....
