I am back from my extremely fun trip to The Color Connections Tour in Riverside, California. And boy oh boy was it GREAT!! We had the best time EVER!
The classes were fairly small (30ish people) so we had lots of hands on instruction. There were so many fun projects and things to learn. And we got SO MUCH PRODUCT!! Gorgeous, gorgeous product from 3 fab companies!! SOOOOO lucky! Prima Marketing, Pink Paislee and Tattered Angels ROCK!
I almost had to buy another suitcase to fit everything for my flight home! Denise is going to bring a few things when she comes to visit in 3 weeks.
We did layouts, cards, mini albums, a bird house mini album, a tin with a mini album in it, a clock and the list goes on and on. And even during the crop they had planned things for us to make and take and provided the necessary products to make them with extras to take home!! Did I mention that all of the product was GORGEOUS!!?? ha
Can you tell I loved Color Connections and would definitely do it all over again?! And I recommend it to any and everyone. They said they are planning to tour it around the U.S. this year so if it comes to an area near you plan on going!!
I am going to share the clock and headband I made here today because they are the only things I have taken a picture of so far. But plan to get to see much, much more soon!
The headband was a fun project provided during the crop. We had tons of flowers and ribbon and bling we could add to the base head band. I went fairly simplistic and just added two flowers and some ribbon. Both of my daughters have been wearing it already.
The clock was such a fun project to do! We had to sand it and then Glimmer Misted it. I then painted on some Glimmer Glam. I just love Glimmer Glam. I am embarassed to say that I actually own 4 bottles of it and had NEVER used it. And now that I have used it I plan to use it on EVERYTHING!! It really adds so much sparkle and goes on so easy. Totally awesome stuff!
We also glimmer misted the paper and then cut it out and tore one edge and glued it down. The numbers are wooden and also sprayed with glimmer mist. The flowers are glimmer misted too....can you see a theme!?! lol
Can you imagine what my hands looked like??!! LOL Denise poured almost a whole bottle of Glimmer Glam on her pants....oops...just an FYI - Glimmer Glam does not wash out! ha If you spill it on yourself just be creative and make a pretty pattern! ha
We were provided with so many cool things to add to the clock face... flowers, bling, leaves, brads and we got to pick which of the fun titles we wanted to use from a package of Mistables Flocked and Resist Titles. We were given the makings of the actual clock fixings and I just waited to put the clock fixings on until I got home. I didn't want to destroy them in transit home. Now I am just looking for a place to hang it!
And now on to the exciting announcement that I am sure some of you were waiting for.....
The name of the winner of my personal Spring is in the Air blog hop giveaway is.... Emeraldvalkerie!
Congratulations Christy!!! I will pop your stamps in the mail today!! Thanks to everyone who joined in on the blog hop! I hope you all had fun.
Check back tomorrow for more scrappy goodness!
Lovely clock, and my girls were oo-ing and ah-ing over the headband. They just love fancy floral headbands! I'll hope that the class comes to my area, but usually the closest to me ends up being Boston or New York. Boston is doable, so my fingers are crossed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and I'll be watching for your album in a tin. I received one a week ago, and have had numerous ideas for it...now I just need the motivation to start it!
What a gorgeous clock, and fun headband! (Your little girl is quite a cutie, too...heehee.)
ReplyDeleteI want to see Denise's pants! LOL!!
That headband is adorable, course it doesn't hurt that it's being worn by such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Christy!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the clock and the photo of you and Denise is priceless!
But, my favorite: the photo of your daughter in the headband--for obvious reasons!!!
So glad you had a great time!
Looks like you girls had a great time!!
