Back Porch Memories

Happy Monday!!  I'm super excited because tomorrow I leave to go on my annual Arts and Crafts festival trip to Arkansas with my Mom and Aunt!!  I still need to pack so this with be short and sweet! ha

I have a layout to share for the November Guest Designer Challenge at Back Porch Memories.  Here is the awesome Becky Fleck sketch I was required to use:

Here is the layout I came up with for this challenge:

I'm never happy with my photos lately.  I have my fingers crossed that I will be getting a new camera for Christmas!

I love this photo of my daughter that I took yesterday on her 7th birthday.  That big happy grin just makes my heart smile.  She was super excited because we were getting ready to go to her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.  But honestly, she is always good at happily giving me a pretty smile when I take her photo.  She is definitely the child of a scrapbooker!!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping and looking today!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Happy Nat'l Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day!!  How did you spend your day?  Did you make any cards???  I was happy to have my friend, Rochelle Spears, come over and scrap with me all day.  Our kids played and we scrapped....could it get any better than that?

Here is the layout I made.  I was inspired by several things.  The first was the color challenge at Color Me Scrappy.  The second was the gorgeous sketch from Stuck? Sketches. They are teaming up this month.

And third from the You're Sew Cute, You Keep Me In Stitches linky party at Paper Issues.  (this inspired the machine stitching on my layout)

And finally I was inspired by Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe Challenge at Through the Eye's of Rochelle Spears. (diagonal - 4+ patterned papers, Orange and Die Cut)

How about looking at a couple of cards I made??  The first one I made for Cheryl's Christmas Card Anything Goes Challenge at Sketches4all.  I'm entering it at We do Doobadoo in their Christmas challenge too.

Well, that seems like enough for now.  I hope you were able to get some scrapping done today.  I know I enjoyed Nat'l Card Making Day!  Until next time... happy scrapping!!

Last Day of September

Hello!!

I have a couple of layouts to share today.  On Saturday I got a crazy idea and rearranged my scrap room.  Everything isn't back in place yet but I am LOVING it so far!!  It seems much roomier in my new configuration.  I will share a photo but only positive feedback please!! LOL

Anyway, the new configuration has me itching to scrap even though I haven't got things put up yet.  So, this morning I finished up two layouts that I started when I was at the Scrap Society Dr. Seuss Crop a couple of Saturdays ago.

I was inspired to make the first one after seeing the 1, 2, 3, A, B, C Challenge at Scrap Our Stash.  I used 1 journaling card, 2 photos, 3 patterned papers and for "A" I used an arrow, for "B" I used a balloon and for "C" I used chevrons.

I also had a ton of fun stamping and splattering paint on the background!

The second layout was inspired by two challenges.  The sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme.  I loved the gorgeous sketch by Bev Code!!

September 1 Sketch

And I was also inspired by Paula's "Wacky Holidays" Guest Designer Challenge at Sketches4all.  I decided to celebrate Grandparents Day.  The layout is my children's grandmother....my mother.

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping and looking today!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Scrappy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone!   Have you been scrappy lately?  I have and I have a few things to share today. Let's start with a card I made for Fia' September Sketch Challenge with a twist (add orange) at Sketches4all.

Definitely added the orange didn't I?! ha  I used the new Graphic 45 collection "An Eerie Tale Collection".  I love that there is always a side of the paper that is "neutral" with G45.  Meaning that you wouldn't realize that this was Halloween paper would you?

Last Saturday, my friend Rochelle and I went to the Scrap Society Dr. Seuss all-day Crop.  Boy was it fun!!  We scrapped all day, there were games and prizes and yummy snacks.  Everyone was fun and it really was just a total blast!  Here is one of the layouts I made while I was there.  I made it for the Scrappy Friends Challenges.  Brenda's sketch challenge, Kelly's Color Combo Challenge and Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  (I picked the TAC row down - Stitching, Numbers and Jewels)

Here is a layout I made in July while I was on vacation in St. Barths and have never shared!  Look!  Here is my hubby sitting at the table where all my scrap stuff is out.

And here is the view I had while scrapping:

Anyway, I put it aside to journal on it and then promptly forgot about it... ha  (The journaling is on the back.  My son wanted it to be private)

Yesterday, I spent most of the day making Christmas cards.  Yes, I know it is only September but I recently bought a few new Christmas Paper collections and have been eager to make something with them.  Are you as obsessed with Christmas paper packs as I am?!  I know it is crazy to buy so many but I just can't resist!! ha

A few of the cards are gift card holders too.  I will be sharing these cards soon with a little tutorial on how to make the gift card holder cards.  I squeezed in a couple of Halloween cards too!  One if for a DT Challenge for October so you will have to wait to see it too!

Thanks for stopping and looking today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Sharing on Saturday!

Happy Saturday!  I'm enjoying my weekend.  How about you?  I have two layouts to share today.  The first one I made for Paper Secrets - September 1st challenge.  You have to use this sketch by Lanette Erickson that I turned:

And items that spell out LABOR.  I used Letters, Arrow, Border, Overlay, Rubon.

My second layout to share, I made because I was inspired by the writing on the paper.  I really liked what it said so I sent my kid outside with my camera to take a photo of our house.  I'm entering it in Cheryl's Flower challenge at Sketches4all.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and looking.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  I'm happy it is the weekend.  How about you?  I haven't quite gotten back into the whole school routine yet. ha

I wanted to share a layout I made.  I am going to enter it at Color Me Scrappy in their Back to School challenge.

And I plan to add it to the Scrap Our Stash Back to School Challenge.  You are required to add certain items to your layout and I added from list A - Lined Paper, and from list B - Books, Ruler, Paper Clip, Alphas and an Apple.

I have a couple more layouts to share but I haven't gotten photos taken yet....so keep an eye out for another post soon.

Have a great weekend!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Rush to the End of the Month

It is the last day of August and I have a few more projects to share before all the new September challenges are posted.  Let's start with a layout I made using the fantastic sketch challenge at My Scraps & More Sketches.  This yummy sketch is by Audrey Yeager.  I decided to turn it on it's side since I wanted to use horizontal photos.

In July my mother and  I were lucky enough to take some classes taught by Dina Wakley.  They were a blast!!  We learned a ton of fun techniques.

I used one of the painting techniques that Dina taught to make the red and blue paper strips on this layout.  I shared this process on a previous post HERE. I also took a photo of the paints I used and fussy cut them out to use as an embellie on this layout.  FUN!  Here it is:

I set myself a goal this month of entering all the challenges at Sketches4all.  Here are the last few stragglers! ha  This first card is for Fia's Sketch challenge.

Here is a card for Fia's Inspiration challenge.  You are required to choose something from the inspiration board and let it inspire your project.  I was inspired by the look of the bright watercolors with black inking on top.

13e25b2ec96b12a44d4e465b0ea603f1.jpg (464×600)

The stamp didn't stamp perfectly on the textured watercolor paper but I still liked how it looked so I went with it! ha

Next I have a card for Fia's color challenge.  Here are the colors:

ff01c55d7d6111a96f074141b4cf5e0f.jpg (401×464)

I was lucky to find a sheet of paper that was perfect because it had all the colors on it!  My plan was to make a perfectly flat card by die cutting the star out of two pieces of paper and then inserting the star from one paper into the die cut space on the other paper.  But I didn't really like the look so I changed it up and ended up making two cards with my die cut papers. (you will see what I mean if you keep reading)  I used the sketch challenge from Clean and Simple Stamping to inspire me.

Here is my card:

I decided to take my second die cut paper and make a birthday card for the Guest Designer, Monique's Birthday challenge at Sketches4all.

I think I like this card the best of all of them.  It is just so clean and simple and I like the pops of color with the enamel dots.  What do you think?  Which is your favorite?

Okay, enough for today.  I'm glad you had a chance to stop by and look today.  I hope you are all having an awesome weekend!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!!

2nd Post Today!!!

Can you believe that I am writing my second post for today?!  That never happens! ha  I guess I'm still feeling scrappy because I knocked out another layout today.  It is for a sketch challenge at Stuck? Sketches.  Here is the cool sketch by Laura Whitaker:

As you can notice, I turned the sketch on it's side to better work with my photos.  I'm going to enter this in Giorgia's "Rub On" challenge at Sketches4all too.

If you haven't seen my other post today be sure and scroll down and check out 4 more layouts and a card!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Until next time...happy scrapping!!
