Lucky Mom

This will be a bit short because I have hurt my wrist and it is a struggle to type.  I'm having Carpel Tunnel surgery next week on Tuesday to fix things up so I should be back in business soon.  Recovery is supposed to be pretty quick hopefully.  Wish me luck.

I made this layout I want to share with you.  I actually started it (and mostly finished it) at the beginning of the month but put it aside for a bit.  Now that I have it finished I want to share it with you.

I started with a challenge from Once Upon A Sketch which I've promptly missed the deadline on entering. hehehe  (Oh well maybe next time.)  There was a lovely sketch and a prompt of "Lucky".  I always tell everyone that I'm a "Lucky Mom" so that just made this a challenge I needed to do.

I used Graphic 45 - Bohemian Bazaar papers that are bright and happy.  They are totally YUMMY!  I colored some white flowers from my stash with Mustard - Color Shine.  I love it!!  It is some of my absolute favorite stuff to work with on layouts.

I stamped out the small butterfly from my constantly used Sheena's A Little Bit Scenic - Flying colors stamp set multiple times onto Luxury Centura Pearl 6" x 6" Printable Snow White Cardstock with VersaMark ink and then sprinkled each one in a different colored embossing powder and heat them.  I fussy cut them out and arranged them on my flowers for a bit of whimsy.

I'm happy with the final result.  Thanks for stopping and looking today.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

I saw this cherry blossom tree stamp and just knew I had to made a card with it immediately!  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers in  PP1, PP5, and DR5.  I went very bright and colorful because I wanted it to really pop off the white card.

I'm still channeling my inner embossing diva so I pulled out my 6" X 6" Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Lattice and a sheet of 8" x 8" Printable Snow White Cardstock and embossed it.  I layered it on some bright orange and pink cardstock that compliment the bright happy colors I used on the tree.  I finished up by stamping the sentiment quote and coloring it with my Spectrum Noir marker in PP1.    I thought I was done but then I realized it needed a bit of sparkle and pulled out my Star Dust Stickles. I love how it turned out!!  I hope you do too.

These fab stamps are available in the Crafter's Companion online store TODAY!

Have you entered the Crafter's Companion Embossing Challenge this month?  There is a fantastic prize of a $30 voucher to the Crafter's Companion online store and there is the opportunity to be their Guest Designer for the rest of the year!!  A position which includes some yummy goodies.  SO if you haven't already joined in the challenge you better hurry up!!  Here is what they have to say on the Crafter's Companion challenge site:

"Have you always wanted to be part of our team?  This month we’re doing something a little special, and our design team will be choosing TWO lucky people to be our Challenge Team guest for October, November, and December!  You will receive a package of goodies from either Crafter’s Companion UK or Crafter’s Companion USA (we will be choosing one person from the UK/Europe, and one from the USA) and have your work showcased here on our blog for three months (you will make one card per month)."

Here is a card to inspire you.  I made this beauty with my 6" X 6" Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Gun Metal.  (Yes I'm still an embossing diva!! ha)  I used it to emboss this teal green cardstock and then sanded it lightly to help the pattern show up better.

I stamped out the hibiscus from the Sheena's Floral Fantasy EZMount Stamp Set - Wild Rose & Hibiscus with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and then colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers in  PP2, PP4, PP5, LG1, LG4, LG5, GB1, and GB3.  I just love the soft colors and bling on this card!

Today is the DAY!

Hello!!  How is your week going so far?  Mine has been good so far.  I can't believe it is already almost Friday!  I have open house at the school of 3 of my children tonight.  They have it set up where you can really only go to one child's classes so I'm not sure which child will be my "favorite" (LOL - jk).  It really seems like poor planning on their part but what can you do?   Part of my busy week was filled with coloring because really what else can you do when you are in love with a new set of stamps! ha

AND I super excited because today is the launch of the new Makey Bakey Mice stamp collection at Crafter's Companion!!  WOOT!  You know I have been obsessing over them this week and today will be no different! ha

I  used the Makey Bakey Mice -Knit & Natter stamp set and colored the image with my Spectrum Noir MarkersBG1, BG3, CG1, CG2, CG4, CG6, GB4, GB6, TN1, TN3, TN4, DR7.

Again expressing my inner Embossing Diva, I embossed some Luxury Centura Pearl paper with my Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Floral Frenzy.  GORGEOUSNESS!  I love the shine of this paper and with the embossing it is just even more lovely!

I stuck with a red, white and green color palette and made a sweet red bow with my Ultimate Tool and some wired red ribbon from my stash of goodies.  I finished it off by custom coloring some clear bling with my Spectrum Noir marker - CG1.   What do you think?  Like it as much as I do? ha

If you are loving these cuties as much as me then go check them out over at Crafter's Companion today!  Thanks for stopping by to look.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Makey Bakey Mice for Designed to Color Challenge

Happy Sunday!

I sure hope you have been having a good weekend.  Today I wanted to show you an easel card I made with the new soon to be launched Makey Bakey Mice Stamps.  I made it for the Designed to Color "Anything Goes" challenge #20 with Crafter's Companion that started today.  This is going to be a fun challenge where you are only limited by your creativity!  If you are joining this challenge you must have a colored image on your project.  You have until September 28, 2013 at 12pm MST to enter!

Isn't this mouse just adorable?!  I think these are going to be some of my new favorites from Crafter's Companion.  They will be available at the Crafter's Companion online store starting September 19th.

This stamp is called Home Sweet Home.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers in TN1, TN3, TN4, CR4, CR6, LY1, LY3, GT1, GT2, GT3, DR7.  I've already colored 4 other images so expect to be seeing a lot of Makey Bakey Mice around here!! lol

I'm embracing my inner "Embossing Diva" this month and have been embossing everything I can get my fingers on and this card was no exception! ha  I embossed some green cardstock with my 6" X 6" Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Floral Frenzy to add more flowers and texture to this card.  Speaking of embossing have you joined in on this months challenge at Crafter's Companion?  The challenge is...wait for it....EMBOSSING! ha  There is a fabby prize to win so you should go check it out.

Okay, I'm off to look for some more mice to color!  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!  Until next time...happy scrapping!!

Custom Flower Stamping With Crafter's Companion

This holiday weekend has flown by so quickly.  Tomorrow the kids are back to school and ....wait....that means I have the whole school day to myself!  (big smile)  What was I so sad about? he he he  Just kidding.

This weekend I was feeling super scrappy and I saw this awesome sketch challenge at The Sweetest Thing and I got the idea of using my Stamp It Australia - Destination stamp to create a custom flower for my card.

Let me show you what I did to make this card come alive.

First I gathered my supplies.

Then I inked up my stamp with the gorgeous Memento Luxe ink in Morocco and stamped it on my white flower.  You could easily stamp on any color of flower with any color of ink or stamp.  The possibilities are endless!

Here is one of the flowers right after I stamped it.

What a difference right?!

After I stamped the flowers, I heat set the pigment ink with my heat gun.  You can just wait for them to dry but I was too impatient! ha

Next I grabbed my Collall Tacky Glue and layered the two flower sizes.  This is the best glue!  It dried quick and clear.

Here is a close-up view of the flower with added bling in the middle on the card I made.

I finished up my card with a sentiment from the Stamp It Australia -Imagine- Sentiment Swirls stamp set.  These stamps are some of my all time favorites!

You should try this technique and share your projects on the Crafter's Companion Facebook page!  We would love to see them.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

2nd Post Today!!

Hey can you believe it?  This is my second post today!  I found a great card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and it ends VERY SOON so I need to get my card posted on here so I could enter it in the challenge...phew....

I'm combining it with a Halloween Challenge from Cheryl at Sketches4all.  Look what I made...

I used papers from the Me and My Big Ideas Mambi paper pack.  I grabbed a bit of washi tape from my stash and fussy cut the spiders from the paper too.  I popped them up off the page with pop dots for some cool dimension.  It was pretty fun to make.

Be prepared to visit here again tomorrow because I have a post ready for your viewing pleasure!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

It is September 1st and I'm Feeling Scrapping

Welcome to September!  Can you even believe it is already SEPTEMBER?!  I can't.

My kids have all gone back to school so I have all 5 kids in school  ALL DAY.  I almost don't know what to do with my time.  But I bet I figure it out pretty quickly.  hehehe

Since it is the first of September there are a ton of new challenges posted all over bloggyland and I was inspired to scrap this morning.

Today I have made two cards to share (so far).  The first one is for a challenge at sketches4all.  Jessica has a challenge posted to make a project with an arrow on it.  So, I figured that was easy enough to do right?  I just bought some yummy paper from My Minds Eye - Cut & Paste by Jen Allyson that has arrows printed right on one of the sheets.  Perfect!

But wait...where are the arrows?

Here they are...on the inside of my card. (check out that gorgeous paper!)

If you follow me at all you know that I am notorious for grabbing the scraps off my desk and making a quick card and this is exactly what I did here.  These paper scraps and the chipboard are leftovers from this layout I made for the September Sketches4all DT Challenge - Back to School theme.

The chipboard was plain and I sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Primrose.  I LOVE these sprays so much.  They are luscious, bright, shiny, dry quickly and cover beautifully.  If you haven't gotten some for your own stash you should definitely go shopping for some now!  I got mine at Micheals.

Look at my silly kids! lol

I also made a card using the fun sketch challenge from 2 Sisters blog.  I combined it with a S4A challenge from Cheryl to use lace and dimension.

Okay, I'm still in the scrappy mood so I'm off to make something else.  Have a great weekend!!

Until next time...happy scrapping!
