November Sketches in Thyme

Hello my friends!  I'm excited to share my latest project with you!  I made this layout using the newest sketch challenge by Bev Code over at Sketches in Thyme.

I turned the sketch in order to use my vertically oriented photo.  I told you I loved this collection from my kit from The Scraproom!  I used it again here.

Now it's your turn to be inspired by this great sketch.  Go over to Sketches in Thyme now and join!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Sketches in Thyme October

Hello again,

I'm here again with a layout using the fun sketch challenges at Sketches in Thyme.  This extremely unique sketch really brought out my creative juices.  Here's what I came up with:

I made this layout using an adorable paper kit from The Scraproom.  LOVE IT!  I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine for the ink drips.  Color Shine is my favorite spray ink.  I love that it is opaque and never seems to ever clog.  The colors are fantastic and there are a ton of them but I am always surprised that the two colors I tend to always use are teal and mustard!

I'm happy with how this turned out...how about you?  Ready to go be inspired?  Head over to Sketches in Thyme and join in this month!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Another Post Today!

Hi guys!  I'm back with another layout to share.  I made this one using the September Book Inspired scrap challenge at Scrap our Stash.  I combined it with the Scrappy Friends challenge sketch from Brenda Ragsdale and the This and That Challenge from Rochelle Spears.

I LOVE this kit I got from The Scraproom!  I've made two layouts so far with it.  It's so super cute!!  I'm normally not into fall patterned papers but I think these are saved by the teal.

Thanks for looking!  Until next time (probably in a few minutes *wink*)...happy scrapping!

Here is one that I made for the sketch challenge at Stuck?! Sketches:

I had this great photo of me and my bff, Denise, on vacation in St. Croix this summer, that I just was dying to scrap.  It works perfectly with this fun paper kit from The Scraproom.

I will be posting more layouts soon....keep an eye out.

Stuck?! Sketches August Challenge

Hello everyone!

Today my kids started back to school.  Yay!  (lol)  I spent the morning scrapping in my very quiet house.  Then I went to lunch with my friend.  Now my kids are back home and it is no longer quiet...ha

I am happy that I got the chance to scrap a layout today because I've been dying to do one of the sketch challenges at Stuck?! Sketches.  Here's the sketch I was inspired by:

I decided to turn the sketch on it's side and here is what I came up with today.

I loved the colors in this paper collection.  They worked really nicely with the photo of my hubby and I on vacation in St. Croix.  We went to this lovely restaurant right on the water that specialized in fresh lobster.  We LOVED it so much we went back a couple of days later and ate there again!  The lobster was fresh and delicious! YUM!!

I  better get this posted so I can go enter this in the challenge over at Stuck?! Sketches.  Thanks for stopping and looking today.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

You should head over to Sketches in Thyme and check out the challenge.  There is always an awesome prize given away each month!

July Sketches in Thyme Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Have you checked out the newest sketch challenge over at Sketches in Thyme??  I was lucky enough to get to work with this month's first awesome sketch by Jenessa Franco.  It really got my creative juices going.

I took out some papers from one of the kits I recently got from The Scraproom. (If you haven't checked out their kits yet you really need to go do it!  Great kits for great prices!)  My older daughter has been complaining that I haven't been scrapping her enough (smile) so I grabbed these cute photos that I took of her at the park.  I followed the sketch pretty closely and I love how it turned out!  (My daughter did too! ha)

Sketches in Thyme has the best sketch challenges and I'm sure you are going to want to go over and take a look this month at the 4 separate sketches that you can use to get your mojo going!  You can enter as many times as you like to get your name in the hat for the monthly prize drawing.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Scrap Our Stash June Sketch +3 Challenge

Hello and welcome!

Since I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a guest designer over at Scrap Our Stash this month I made this layout for the Sketch +3 Challenge.  I am always inspired by sketches and love this sketch  by Brenda Ragsdale!  It really made for an exciting challenge!!

My Flavor of the Month kit from The Scraproom had some fabulous papers to chose from so I grabbed some and got started.  I decided to use one large photo instead of 4 smaller photos. I printed out a great shot of my daughter in a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 size and matted it on white paper.  I thought that with the feather paper being a bit busy I would just keep things clean and simple.  I wrapped the title work around the photo and added a few embellishments.  Then I called it done.

My +3 are from List 1- Polka Dots, from List 2 - Quartz and from List 3 - Red.  I'm loving how it turned out!  I hope you are too!!

You need to go on over to SOS and join in on the great challenges this month!!  I had fun with them and I know you will too!

Thanks for stopping by and looking today!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Scrap Our Stash June Guest Designer!!

Welcome to June and to my blog today!!  I'm excited to announce that I was asked to be a guest designer over at Scrap Our Stash this month!  When I heard I will thrilled to bits!  I just love their challenges!  Don't you?

Their first challenge for June is to be inspired by the book cover for How To Surprise a Dad and to use pops of yellow on your layout too.  The book cover has a father on it and he is reading to his kids so of course I was inspired to use a photo of my goddaughter's husband and her daughter taking one of their first walks together.  She just learned to walk and I think that this photo was just too precious not to scrap!

I used a sketch made by Brenda Ragsdale from her Scrappy Friends challenge this month.  I turned the sketch on it's side and since I was also was inspired by the colors on the mood board from Kelly at Scrappy Friends I pulled these gorgeous papers out to use.  I totally meant to add a butterfly to one of my flowers for Rochelle's part of their group challenge but I left it sitting on my scrap desk!  Oh well....maybe I will remember next time.  (smile)

The papers are from my Flavor of the Month kit from The Scraproom.  YUM!  Aren't they just the best?!  I saw this floral sheet and just had to fussy cut some of the flowers out for my POPS of YELLOW.  I love how they just jump off of that black card stock base.

I had such fun making this layout!  You need to rush out and join in on these challenges this month too!  Think of all the scrapping you can be inspired to do!  Thanks for dropping by and checking out all the scrappy goodness!!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Family Fun

Hi there!

Here is another post from me today!!  I think this is a record!! lol  I really like this layout for some reason.  It just seems pretty clean and simple but not too simple if you know what I mean.  I made it for the Freaky Fast Friday Challenge over that The Scraproom.  I used gorgeous paper from my Flavor of the Month kit and fun photos of my goddaughter and her family at a country club.

I think this might be my last post tonight. I'm glad you came by to visit!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

SOS May Sketch +3 Challenge

Howdy there!  Don't you just love this sketch by Rochelle Spears?  It was so easy to be inspired by it!!  This is a layout I made for the Scrap Our Stash Sketch +3 Challenge for May.  I used paper from my Flavor of the Month Kit from The Scraproom.  LOVE THAT PAPER!!  It is so bright and cheery.  My +3 are from List 1 - Magenta, List 2 - Naples Yellow and from List 3 - Olive.

I really am happy with how it turned out.  I hope you like it too!!  Thanks for stopping by and looking around!

Harper Family Memories

Hello friends!  How are you spending your Memorial Day weekend?  We are just hanging at home this weekend, spending time together as a family mostly out in the pool.  It's been relaxing and fun so far.  But I figured it is the end of the month so I better get the layouts that I made for different challenges up on my blog and entered!  I'm notorious for not getting them posted before the ending dates!

Here is a layout I made for a cool  sketch challenge at Scrap Much.  This layout is totally not my normal style of scrapping but I had fun making it.  I used some old photos of my father's family from when he was a small boy.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and looking.  I will be uploading several more posts today so be sure and scroll through them all.

Until next time...happy scrapping!

National Scrapbook Day #2

Hi guys!  I'm back with the second layout I made on National Scrapbook Day using the challenges at The Scraproom and Scrap Our Stash.

This time I used sketch #1 from the Scraproom.

Here's my take on the challenge:

Each letter has (3) pre-selected stash items for you to choose from:

PRE-SELECTED STASH LIST:
S ~ Sequins, Staples, or Stickers
T ~ Tags, Tape, or Transparency
                                                    A ~ American Crafts, Ampersand(&),or Arrow
S ~ Stencil, Stick Pins, or Striped Print
                                                    H ~ Hashtag (#), Heart(s) or Hemp (cord)

I used S - Stickers, T - Tag, A - Arrow, S - Striped Print, and H - Heart.

So there you go.  National Scrapbooking Day fun!!  I hope you had a chance to make something too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time...Happy Scrapping!!

National Scrapbook Day #1

Hi everyone!  Last weekend I was lucky enough to get to spend National Scrapbook Day at The Scrap Society Mary Poppins crop in Henderson Nevada.  Unfortunately I'm a bit of a "slow to get started" scrapper so I actually only made two layouts but I had a fun day!!  *smile*

I was motivated to make a layout using a sketch challenge from The Scraproom and the Scrap Our Stash NSD challenge.

The SOS Challenge:
Create a layout using one PRE-SELECTED stash item of your choice for each letter in the word STASH
Each letter has (3) pre-selected stash items for you to choose from:

PRE-SELECTED STASH LIST:
S ~ Sequins, Staples, or Stickers
T ~ Tags, Tape, or Transparency
                                                    A ~ American Crafts, Ampersand(&),or Arrow
S ~ Stencil, Stick Pins, or Striped Print
                                                    H ~ Hashtag (#), Heart(s) or Hemp (cord)

I used S - Stickers, T - Tag, A - Arrow, S - Striped Print, and H - Heart.

I used cool sketch #4 by Dee Hunt:

Here is one of the layouts I made for these challenges.

This was a fun challenge!!  I made a second layout using the same challenges but I will type up a second post to share those.

The Scrap Room - Cards

Hello people!  I'm back here with my final projects from my February Guest Designer position at The Scrap Room.  It's been so fun being a Guest Designer over there!  I loved playing with the Flavor of the Month kit I received.  It was just the right amount of papers and embellies to scrap all month long! I still have quite a bit left over to play with still.  A loaded kit for an economical price!  What more can you ask for?!

If you follow me, you probably already know that I usually try to make cards with my left over paper scraps.  Well, here are a couple of cards I made using that method.

Valentines Card - Crate Paper - Hello Love

Thank You Card - Echo Park - Spring

Thanks for coming by today and checking things out!  Go check out The Scrap Room next.  They have so many cool projects to inspire you.

Until next time...happy scrapping!

Freaky Fast Friday - The Scrap Room

I've really have been having a blast being a Guest Designer at The Scrap Room this month!  I want to thank Rochelle Spears for the opportunity!  I'm back today with my Freaky Fast Friday layout.

I loved making this one!  It was so fast (hence the name...lol) and fun!  You are given specific paper sizes and then you can either follow one of the designer's paper arrangement or just move the papers around until you are happy with your own arrangement.

I made this layout using the Echo Park - Spring papers from the February Flavor of the Month kit.
Thanks for coming here today. Now you need to rush over to The Scrap Room and check out all the inspiration from the other designers in the TSR Ideas Gallery.  And while you are there, if you like what you see, you should sign up to start getting one or more of their awesome kits!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

The Scrap Room Recipe Layout

Welcome friends!  I'm excited to share my newest project as a February Guest Designer for The Scrap Room.  This project is a double page layout featuring Simple Stories - You & Me paper and embellishments from the Flavor of the Month kit.

Here is it:

Both pages together.

Left Page

Right Page

I love these photos of my daughter playing dress-up.  She thinks she looks like a pretty princess so I thought that was a great title.  I wanted to use a large photo cut into a partial circle on the left page and then balance it out with the small photo on the 3" x 5" card on the right page.  I really think it turned out great and my daughter LOVES it! lol

I think you should go over to The Scrap Room and be inspired by all the fun projects from the design team and while you are there you might even be inspired to purchase one of their affordable kits!  If you do, then you will have free access each month to the recipes for making the design team double layouts!!  Pretty cool, right?

Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

February Sketches in Thyme Challenge

Hello my friends!

It is that time again for me to share a layout I made with one of the awesome sketch challenges this month at Sketches in Thyme!  My sketch is by the fantastic sketch designer (and my buddy), Rochelle Spears!  And it is gorgeous and inspirational as usual.

My BFF, Denise and I challenged ourselves to make a layout together which was really a bit of a challenge since she was in California and I am in Oklahoma!  She finished hers first because I'm a bit of a piddler but I did finally get mine finished and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!  You are going to love working with this fun sketch too!!

Well....what do you think?  I used one of the photos I took of my hubby and kids at Christmas.  Did you take as many photos this holiday season as I did?!  I took about 400 photos and how do I know this you ask?  Because I saw a great photo processing discount at Walgreen's and developed them all!!    Yay to actually printing my photos!!!  lol  I usually just have them add up on my memory card (or phone memory) until I eventually download them onto my computer.  (I know...not a good idea)  Anyway, my point is that I now have a ton of photos to scrap!

I am challenging myself this year to make at lease 50 layouts.  I honestly think this is a doable number and hope to blow past this amount.  How about you?  Any scrappy goals this year?  Share!

Now you need to rush over to Sketches in Thyme and get inspired to join the challenge!

Thanks for stopping and visiting today.  Until next time...happy scrapping!

Guest Designer for The Scrap Room!

Hello friends!

I have some great news to share!  I was asked to be a guest designer for February at The Scrap Room!  I hope you get a chance to go check out the awesome kits that they have available.  I was lucky enough to get to work with the Flavor Of The Month kit.  Look at all the awesomeness!

Here is what is included in this kit:

Have you ever wanted to be a Guest Designer and get a kit to work with for free!?  Each month The Scrap Room will post a sketch challenge, and from the entries they will invite one person to Guest Design with them for one month.  TSR Kit Club subscribers and non-subscribers are encouraged to play along.

The person chosen, will be awarded a Flavor of the Month Kit and be required to create 3+ layouts using the kit, which will be featured on The Scrap Room.  If selected you must be willing to complete your projects within their deadline.

So if you are interested in becoming a guest designer for The Scrap Room you will need to make a layout using this sketch and enter it in the Guest Designer Sketch Challenge over on The Scrap Room blog:

Here is my first project as a Guest Designer using Studio Calico - Seven Paper and the Guest Designer Sketch Challenge sketch:

Don't you just love that paper?  I'm not sure I would have ever thought to mix the black, yellow and blue but I love how it looks all together!  And it was super fun to work with the February Sketch Challenge sketch.  You need to head on over to The Scrap Room and be inspired by all the other designers!

And be sure and check back here because I will have more projects to share throughout the month using all the goodies in this kit.

Thanks for stopping by today and looking!  Until next time...happy scrapping!

January Sketches in Thyme Challenge

Welcome to 2016!!

Here is my first post of 2016.  Yes, I'm a bit lame and haven't posted anything yet this year.  I figure I should start things out with a bang and share my layout using the newest sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme!  This sketch is by the very prolific sketch designer, Bev Code.  I was inspired to turn the sketch and use two photos instead of 3.

I couldn't help but use these totally adorbs photos of my god daughter's baby, Myla!  Baby photos are the best to use, right?!  I was inspired to use the colors red, white and blue by the January Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The challenge is to look at a book cover and be inspired by it in some way and you must use white paint or paint splatters too.  I used a stencil on the white card stock background and I splattered on some red, blue and white Heidi Swapp Color Shine. It was fun making the base paper myself!

Well, what do you think?  Like it?  Inspired to go scrap?? If so, rush over to Sketches in Thyme and get a good look at that sketch and then go get to scrapping!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time...happy scrapping!
