Happy Wednesday

Hi guys,

Happy Wednesday!  Still sitting at Starbucks...sigh...  I'm waiting for my hubby to fly back home and fix the wifi.  He will be gone all this week so I guess I will be coming here many times.  My little Gigi is sitting watching Caillou and being good.  Fingers crossed she lasts a little bit longer.

Today starts the new Crafter's Companion USA Challenge Blog's "Friendship" challenge. You just have to use a Crafter's Companion Stamp and the theme "friendship".  I made this card as my example.

I used the Humphreys collection stamp set - Girl Talk.  I used the packaging as inspiration on what colors to color the image.  Sometimes that just makes things go so much quicker!! LOL   And with a 4 year old wanting my attention 24/7, quicker can be a lifesaver!! ha

I saw a card in a magazine that had a handwritten to do list on it that I wanted to scraplift so I wrote up this list for my card.

Today is also the start of a sketch challenge over at Sketches4all.  I really love the sketch and I immediately got to work on it when I received it.  I used a photo from our recent camping trip to Arbuckle Lake.

What do you think?  I don't think it photographed well but I personally LOVE it!!  It is so pretty in person.  I made the banner from some stickers and patterned paper.  I was dying to use these little clothes pins.  I used my tiny attacher to staple on the bakers twine and then threaded it through the clothes pins

I made a little hidden journaling card.  And I had fun using several different alpha stickers to make my title.

This  challenge will be going on until August 31st at midnight and you have to use a summery or vacation theme.  You should go check out all the fun examples from the DT and then join in yourself.  It's a fun sketch and you could win the Echo Park paper pad that is the prize for the winner.

Gigi is getting bored so I'm about to end this and talk to you more tomorrow.  How about I end with a couple of photos from our trip to the GW Exotic Animal park.

Jesse feeding the camel a cracker.
Gigi with an albino skunk..
Some hot and tired tigers.
Riley touching the Albino Python.
Olivia, Riley and Jesse holding the python.  Olivia was the lucky one who got to hold the head!!!
Quinn with a baby raccoon.

Until next time....happy scrapping!!!

Now I want to show you a project I made using a stamp from the super sweet new collection from the Humphrey's Corner stamp line.

I LOVE Humphrey and his siblings!! These stamps just call to my heart. I was so excited when I heard there was a new collection coming out. This collection is called A Year With Humphrey. There are 12 gorgeous new stamps for us to enjoy!!! WOO HOO!! lol
I decided to start with Girl Talk. This is really just the cutest stamp ever!! I love how girlie it is. I stamped out the image onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Card stock for Alcohol Markers. This really is the best paper to use with our Spectrum Noir markers. And of course I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers!! And why wouldn't I? They are the best alcohol ink markers for the price!! And they color beautifully!!!

I also wanted to paper piece the dresses. I just love the added bit of texture and dimension it gives to my project. So I stamped out the image twice more onto two different pieces of patterned paper. And then I fussy cut out the the dresses. I glued them down onto my colored image and then cut out the image with some dies on my Cuttlebug. I layered matching patterned paper and card stock to make up my card.

I found the perfect bit of ribbon in that Mystery box of goodies I bought from Maya Road a while back. I think the colors were perfect for this project. I love how the pinks and browns go together so nicely. I stamped my sentiment directly onto the patterned paper and added it to the front.
I used some of my matching papers to simply decorate the inside of the card too. I love the flowers on the ribbon and in the patterned paper I used. This card would be perfect to enter in the May Flower Challenge on the Crafter's Companion USA Challenge Blog this month.     I hope to see your flower projects over there this month!!  (Shameless begging!! LOL )

Thanks for stopping by today!!
