1st Layout of My Wedding

Happy Saturday!!

It is actually not a horribly hot day here in Vegas. There is a little breeze and we haven't hit the 100s.

Our pool has been super hot since we got home from vacation...(100+) and not really too safe to swim in for more than a few minutes.

But my lovely husband has been leaving our pool cover open for the last few days and miraculously....the water was actually swimable this morning.

It is still warm but not hot. We got in about 9am and stayed until 11am when I went in and made brunch...we ate, cleaned and then right back in the pool for a couple more hours.

Then baby down for a nap and the rest of us have just been vegging...

But I did make this layout last night for Brenda's sketch challenge at Sketches4you. It is pictures from my wedding 16 years ago. I am new to scrapbooking and have mostly only done kid and husband layouts. So this is the first one from our wedding.

We got married in the Bahama's and took a few friends and family with us. Beautiful.

Cards for Fia and Christy

I made these cards for Fia's SGOTM Card challenge at Sketches4you. She is doing her Scrap Girl of The Month again this month and there is an awesome prize so you should go join in and try to win!!

I also entered the "It's Your Birthday" card in Christy's Be Inspired challenge (there is a picture to inspire you) and also in her color challenge to use Turquoise and Red. AND in Fia's Punch and Tear challenge...so got a lot of mileage out of that card!! ha

And I made it for my friend who's having her birthday this month....I think she will like it. I especially love that Martha Stewart punch!! Super cute.

In real life you can actually read the sentiment on the "Good Friend" card....(ha) It doesn't photograph well.

I am working on a layout today that uses my wedding photos on it so it is taking me a little longer than usual. You will probably get to see it tomorrow. (if I ever finish it! ha) I have never actually scrapped my wedding photos before. I was challenged to do it by Brenda's sketch challenge at S4U. She has a sketch to follow and you are required to use pictures that are at least 10 years old or older and to handwrite you journaling... And since my kids are 10 and under...not alot of kid pictures to use!! LOL

Really Last Minute

I got crazy and decided to hurry and make another layout for Sassy lil sketches. Today is the deadline for all the July stuff. I did every challenge except this one and I like this sketch and had some cute new pictures....soooooo here you go.

I used some fun TPC Studio pp "Undersea Adventures" . I love the bright blue and lime green colors. They went really well with the blues in the kids swim suits. I used some buttons from "my jar". Cut out the title using my Cricut - cutting up cartridge, added a little bling and some inking and journaling... Done! Now I just need to link to their challenge...

So this will be a short post. But hey....two in one day!! woo hoo!

Sassy Lil Sketches Last Second

Hi there, I decided to wait until the very last possible second to finish up this layout for Sassy Lil Sketches. It is due today. I actually had it mostly made about 3 days ago but wasn't really in the mood to do a good job. So, I put it aside for awhile. But since it was due today I got busy on it last night. And here is what I came up with.

I have just gotten into playing with inks and trying to distress things so please cut me some slack! lol I took these pictures a couple of months ago. My dd was sitting at my desk eating cheese puffs and her head kept getting progressively closer to the desk until she was laying her head down on the desk still eating.

I thought it was pretty funny and thought I should make a layout about it but didn't find the sketch I wanted until I saw the SLS sketch.

I used Tim Holtz paper, Ranger Inks in vintage photo and fired brick and Ranger black archival Ink. I added some Making Memories Panorama embellies and some random buttons and floss I already had. And there you go.

My kids and I made birthday cards yesterday for a friend of the family. I plan to post them on here tomorrow....so come back...lol

Birthday Present

I'm a little behind today. (I wish I "had" a little behind today...lol)

Anyway, busy day with the kids and I am just now getting a chance to post. And I really need to be in the kitchen because I am cooking dinner too and I am sure while I am writing this something is burning! ha

I have exciting news (for me)....my lovely husband is giving me a trip the CKC-Seattle in November for my birthday!!! (a scrapping convention as you probably know)

My friend, Denise, is going and I shamelessly asked if she wanted company and then begged my darling husband to help figure out a way for me to go too. So, he gave me a budget and said if that works then Happy Birthday!! It works!! WOO HOO!!

I am so super excited I can hardly sit still. I wish Denise lived closer so I could obsess about it with her in person!! ha

She is busy having dinner with her parents tonight so it is quiet on her end and it is killing me!!! LOL

I am sure I will hear from her again once they are gone...

I also thought that maybe I should show you my messy scrapping space. I love seeing other peoples spaces so thought I would share mine. It is extra messy in the picture because I made no effort to pick it up and because the picture was taken shortly after I got home from vacation (I took most of it with me). Is yours as bad as mine?

Monday at the Waterpark

Hello Everyone.

Hope you are having a great Monday so far. I have already been out and about. I took my 5 kids to the water park this morning and then for a delightful lunch at McDonalds!

I also snuck in a quick stop at my LSS...don't' tell my husband...lol

So now we are back home and the two littlest are down for their naps (I could use one too! LOL) and I am trying to get caught up on my emails and my blog.

Yesterday I made this layout for my Stash Challenge at sketches4you. My challenge this week is to make a paper craft in black and white. You can use one accent color if you want. You must also use glitter in some form.

Here is my example that I made for inspiration.

It is a layout of my son Jesse (who is now 10). He was only 7 months old in the photo and we had just brought him home from Taiwan.

I used some beautiful paper from DCWV (the Glitter Stack) and also a black metallic paper (can't remember the name of the company but I think it is a Walmart brand) as the base of the layout.

I used dusty concord Distress Ink to ink the flowers and the edges of the white embossed card stock. I used crystal Stickles (my favorite things in the world! lol I added a ton of Colorbok crystal gems.

The picture never really looks as good as I think it does in person. LOL

I also got an email yesterday from Kathy at Scrap Our Stash http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com asking me to be a Guest Designer on their site for the month of September!! Woo hoo! I was one of the top three winners of the July Challenge which was fun to find out also!

So expect me to talk about you going over to visit Scrap Our Stash. Their challenge for August is to use flowers on your layout...and if you make them all the better... It is an easy as pie challenge so you should go over and add your creation!
