Hi guys,
Here I am back with some more crafty creations!! ha
I made this layout for the new challenge at Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog. Their new challenge is Summer.
I decided to use some pictures of my daughter that I took during the summer time and I used some bright happy summer colors. The papers I used are from the new Doodlebug Collection - Ladybug Garden. These are some of the prettiest papers I've seen in a while. It made me feel good just working with them! ha
I used some of the Sheena Paint Fusion stamps from my Butterfly Set. I stamped out the large and small flower and also the bee. I then colored them with my Copics. I layered the large flower for dimension and added a button and some stickles. I also stickled the smaller flower and added a gem.
I had fun with the embellies that came with my Doodlebug kit. And I used a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page edge punch that my mother got me for my birthday. Isn't it pretty?!? I just love it!
Go join in on the challenge over at Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog. They are giving away 2 of Sheena's Paint Fusion stamp sets, the Paint Fusion DVD and some paint!!! What a fab prize! You know you want to win.
I mentioned yesterday that I helped my son's work on their big school science projects this last weekend. Well, it is a little ironic that I used the Doodlebug kit for this layout because one of my son's did his paper on the Antlion...more commonly known as the Doodlebug!! lol
Here is a picture of him with an Antlion larva on his hand. They are found burrowed in the sand usually in shady places like under a tree or rock. He found this in our backyard.
They burrow down in the sand and make a little pit trap. When an unsuspecting ant falls in and then tries to climb out the antlion poufs sand at it which then causes the ant to loose traction and tumble down into the grip of the antlion. The antlion then injects the poor ant with venom that dissolved it's insides and the antlion then drinks them all up!! Yum! (yuck-lol) Didn't I learn a lot this weekend?!?!? Aren't you sad that I did??! LOL
If you watched the Star Trek marathon that was on this weekend you might have seen one used in The Wrath Of Khan. They made it a lot bigger than it really is.
Okay enough for today. Have a great rest of the day! LOL
