Everything Looks Better In Pink

Hi everyone!!

Happy New Year!! WOW 2011 went by super fast! I'm excited to see what 2012 brings.

I'm back in Nevada with my two boys and my brother. My hubby and the rest of the kids fly home tomorrow. And even though Las Vegas was definitely a New Years Eve destination spot, we just hung out at home, watched the fireworks from our deck and played some dominos. We had a nice time though. What did you do last night??

Has anyone made any new years resolutions yet?? If you have please share!! I'm always interested to see what resolutions are made.

My New Years resolution is to get more organized. I doubt it happens but it is a good thing to try to do right?? ha

Today I want to share with you an easel card I recently made for my gorgeous niece. She is very, very pregnant and will soon be delivering a baby girl. I am using this card for my example dt project for the January Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog "Anything Goes" Challenge. You know you only have to use a Crafter's Companion Stamp and the rest is up to you! I decided to use the Humphrey's Corner Collection Stamp Set - New Baby.

I am still totally enamored with these Humphrey Stamp Sets. They are all really just so adorable. I colored the image with my new, fabulous, ridiculously reasonably priced Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers. Again something I am totally enamored with and using practically every day.

Why spend more for Copics when you can get comparable markers for so much less??!!

I have two daughters and 3 sons. You would think they were all boys from the colors of their clothes. My girls are both tomboys so no pink in my house. So I splurged by using as much pink on this card as I could possible use!! LOL I even used a sentiment that says "Everything looks better in Pink!" Thank goodness she is having a girl. ha ha

I tried to make a fairly clean and simple card. I didn't even use any patterned paper at all just colored card stock. The fun polka dot ribbon is from my stash and had never been used. It was purchased in a moment of weakness (and hopefulness) thinking maybe I could use it on a layout of my girls. ha Crazy me!! lol

I used bling and crystal Stickles from my stash to add a bit of sparkle. And I punched the white trim out with a Martha Stewart double sided punch. The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper-Everyday Occasions stamp set.

You should really go join in the "Anything Goes" Challenge at Crafter's Companion. My goal as the new DT Coordinator over there is to try to get as many of you to join in as I possibly can!! lol SO go on already!!!

Happy 2012!

Happy New Year! Glad to hear you rang it in with your family. We did the same, with the kids actually lasting until midnight *gasp* (well, all except Patryk. He crashed at 11:40!)

  6. Sweet, sweet card! Love it!! Best wishes to your niece!
We usually try to play a long game--like Risk. We managed to get a game in before our son left for a party with some friends! I was glad we still managed to get our tradition in!
otherwise, we watched a movie to make it until midnight!!
    Hugs and Happy New Year!

I will do my best! We also stayed home and watch the fireworks from our balcony, played games and I cleaned my craft room! It was fun! Looking forward to 2012 with you!
